And yet again the Fultons have managed to confuse the family tree by naming their children for their relatives! This Alexander Fulton, born in Ohio in 1826, is the son of William and Mary Coalman Fulton. His cousin, Alexander Robert Fulton, son of James and Rebecca Green Fulton was born in Ohio in 1825. Both cousins died in 1891...A.R. [as Alexander Robert was usually called] on 29 September, this Alexander just two months later on 7 December.
We know that the Fulton children moved from household to household helping where needed, so it is difficult in the following two census reports to ascertain for sure whether the Alexander and A. R. in the records cited below are the same person or two different individuals.
