In March of 1999, Mrs. Peggy Walker and the Hurley family graciously returned the William and Mary Coalman Fulton family Bible to the Fulton family. One of the important items found in the Bible was the following newspaper obituary for Mary Jones Fulton. We do not know the newspaper from which it was clipped.
Mary Jones Fulton
Mary Jones was born in Tennessee, February 5, 1835 and was united in marriage to Daniel Fulton May 11, 1854. To this union was born four children, two sons and two daughters. They are Mrs. Susan A. Kennedy of Colorado, Elija Fulton of Brighten, Mrs. Nancy A. Lincoln of Cedar Falls and James R. of Agency. Mr. and Mrs. Fulton have lived in and near Agency for fifty-three years. They are well and favorably known. Mrs. Fulton was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist church, a good Christian woman. She passed away Tuesday evening, Feb. 21 at the age of 76 years. She leaves to mourn their loss an aged companion and four children, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren and one sister. Funeral services were held in the Agency M. E. church Thursday at 10 a.m., and conducted by Rev. Hankins. Interment in the Agency cemetery.
