Please note that there is no consistent spelling of the name IMMELL (IMMEL). On ANNA NANCY'S husband, JOHN'S, will and on the family tombstones in Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Hopetown, Ohio, the name is spelled with one L, as is the middle name of JAMES IMMEL FULTON, son of JAMES and REBECCA GREEN FULTON. On ANNA NANCY'S will the name is spelled with two Ls, as are some records for the children. For this site, simply for the sake of consistency, we will spell the name with two Ls.

There is also a difference of opinion whether this daughter's name was ANNA, ANN or ANA. ANNA is the spelling used on her will, and will be used in this site, however, her tombstone uses the name ANN, she seems to have been called NANCY by all of her family.

Daniel Fulton corrected ANNA'S death date for us following a visit that he and his son, Alex, made to Hopetown and the Wesley Chapel Cemetery.

  1. ANNA [ANN or ANA] NANCY FULTON was born 22 March 1803 in Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania, the third child and only daughter of JAMES (Gen. 3) and ANN CHRISTOPHER FULTON.

  3. In 1814, ANNA NANCY FULTON moved to Ross County, Ohio, near Chillicothe, with her parents, JAMES (Gen. 3) and ANN CHRISTOPHER FULTON, and two of her brothers, JAMES (Gen. 4) and ALEXANDER.

  4. On 27 October 1826, in Ross County, Ohio, ANNA NANCY FULTON married JOHN MICHAEL IMMELL.

  5. JOHN MICHAEL and ANNA NANCY FULTON IMMELL were the parents of at least five children, all of whom were born in Ohio:

    SUSANNAH CREWE IMMELL (1827 - 1897)
    ELIZABETH A. IMMELL (1829 - unknown)
    NELSON REED IMMELL (1830 - 1858)
    ERASTUS F. IMMELL (1832 - 1854)
    CLARISSA H.IMMELL (1834 - unknown)

  6. Following the death of JAMES FULTON (Gen. 3), ANN CHRISTOPHER FULTON made her home with her widowed daughter ANNA NANCY FULTON IMMELL.

  8. Sometime after 1858 ANNA NANCY FULTON IMMELL and her widowed daughter-in-law MARGARET A. HANSON IMMELL [widow of NELSON REED IMMELL] returned to Ohio.
