JAMES (Gen. 3) FULTON was born 6 January 1754 in
Dunlop parish, Ayrshire, Scotland, the son of
JAMES and MARRION DALE FULTON

JAMES (Gen. 3) FULTON may have immigrated to America in
1774.

JAMES (Gen. 3) FULTON married on 6 October 1786 in Baltimore City, Maryland to ANN CHRISTOPHER.

JAMES (Gen. 3) and ANN CHRISTOPHER FULTON were the parents of at least four, and probably five, children:

Because of the twelve year interval between the
births of WILLIAM and JAMES (Gen. 4) it is possible that
there were other children who died in infancy or early
childhood.

In 1807, JAMES (Gen. 3) and ANN CHRISTOPHER FULTON,
with at least three of their children, JAMES (Gen. 4),
ANNA NANCY and ALEXANDER, moved to Baltimore City, Maryland.
We assume that WILLIAM had already moved from his parents'
home, and we have no information about ROBERT.

JAMES (Gen. 3) FULTON served as a private during the
War of 1812, and was honorably discharged.

In 1814, JAMES (Gen.3) and ANN CHRISTOPHER FULTON,
with at least three of their children, JAMES (Gen. 4), ANNA
NANCY, and ALEXANDER, moved to Ross County, Ohio, near
Chillicothe.

It is thought that JAMES (Gen. 3) FULTON worked
either as a stonecutter or a mason, or both while in
Ohio.

JAMES (Gen. 3) FULTON is listed on page
200 in the 1830 census of Sciotta township, Ross County,
Ohio.

JAMES (Gen. 3) FULTON died in Ross County,
Ohio, circa 1830. The exact death date and place and
burial place are unknown.
